Ōtaki Te Horo Business Association – FAQs

 

What is ŌTHBA?

The Otaki Te Horo Business Association (ŌTHBA) is a local not-for-profit organisation formed to connect and support our local businesses to thrive. We aim to strengthen our business community through networking, advocacy, and shared resources.

Who can join?

Full Members: Individuals or representatives who own or part-own a commercial entity in Otaki or Te Horo.

Associate Members: Supporters of the local business community who do not qualify for full membership. Note: Associate Members do not have voting rights or eligibility for Committee roles.

What are the membership fees?

Full Membership: Annual fee (amount to be set at the August 2025 AGM).

Associate Membership: Reduced annual fee.

Memberships are valid from 1st September to 31st August the following year and are renewed annually. 1 membership fee per business. Invoices are sent out each year.

What are the benefits of joining?

  • Access to networking events and guest speakers

  • Business promotion and community visibility

  • Skill sharing, mentoring, and training opportunities

  • Advocacy for local business interests

Can I be involved in decision-making?

Yes! Full Members can:

  • Vote at general meetings

  • Stand for Committee positions

  • Propose motions and contribute to the direction of the Association

How is ŌTHBA governed?

A voluntary Committee was elected to oversee the Association. Roles include Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and at least three additional members. After a member finishes a term - nominations and voting will be held for replacement. If you have interest in becoming a committee member in the future don't hesitate to get in touch. 

How do I stay updated?
